MESSAGE 1
The sun has now fully risen over the eastern horizon, giving you
somewhat more of a reassurance in your surroundings.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 2
You notice that the sun is slowly slipping toward the western horizon.
You begin to feel very uncomfortable about what might happen after dark.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 3
The sun has set! If I was you, I would find a place to hide.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 4
To your relieve, you notice a few rays of sunshine beginning to emerge
from the east.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 5
Suddenly the town's sheriff shows up. He looks you over very carefully
and then gruffly says, "We don't particularly care to have strangers in
our town. I suggest you high tail it out of town! If you stay I will
be watching you very closely. And I best not catch you trying to steal
anything." The sheriff grunts and disappears as quick as he appeared.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 6
The large dog blocks any action you attempt. As you approach it, it
drops its head, bares a mouthful of nasty fangs, and growls. The dog
seems to be ready to pounce on you when a noise from the west distracts
its attention. Suddenly, the dog makes a leap for you. Just in time
you dart out of the way and the dog flees to the west.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 7
Mustering up as much courage as you can, you offer the bone to the dog.
The dog sniffs at it for a second, wags its tail, and gently takes it
from you. The dog lies down directly in front of the door and begins
to gnaw at the bone.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 8
Suddenly the dog jumps up, with the bone firmly in its jaw, and
runs out the door. You quickly follow the dog out of the building
and into the street. You follow the dog up Main Street and then
west on Park Drive. Picking up speed, the dog enters a cemetery
and zigzags its way through old tombstones, finally stopping
in front of a small, worn stone.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 9
As you try to catch your breath, you notice the dog drop the bone and
begin to dig a hole in front of the stone. Within minutes the dog buries
the bone and, satisfied with its work, darts off into the tall weeds
of the cemetery. You are too tired to follow it.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 10
You watch the dog very closely in hopes that it may lead you somewhere.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 11
The dog growls at you, picks up the bone in his jaws, and then
runs out the door.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 12
In the crate you see a spade.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 13
On the shelf you see a ham bone.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 14
On the rack you see a lamp.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 15
You might have better luck in lighting the lamp if it had some fuel.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 16
It is tough lighting a lamp without anything to light it with.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 17
You have no fuel and nothing to light it with.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 18
Your lamp flickers for a moment.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 19
Suddenly your lamp flares up and then goes out.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 20
As you start to screw the fuse in, you notice an arc of electricity
that welds the fuse to its holder. In the distance you hear a soft
whirl for a second.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 21
When you lift the handle from the kerosene pump, you hear a soft whirl.
Carefully you fill the lamp with the kerosene and then replace the handle.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 22
When you lift the handle from the gasoline pump, you hear a soft whirl.
Carefully you fill the lamp with the gasoline and then replace the handle.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 23
You notice the lamp is glowing extremely bright.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 24
Suddenly the lamp burst into flames. Before you can react a huge explosion
rips you body into many small pieces. Of course most preschoolers know
better than to use gasoline in a kerosene lamp.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 25
The Lamp is already burning.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 26
You extinguish the lamp.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 27
The lamp glows softly after you light it.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 28
The lamp is so hot that you can't touch the off lever.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 29
KABOOM!
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 30
Out of nowhere, the sheriff runs up to you wielding his nightstick. "I
told you that I'd be watching you!", he yells. "I saw you stealing that
fuel from the gas station. We don't cotton to thieves around here. You
are going to be spending several years in our jail and we don't serve
meals." You head almost explodes and you slip into unconsciousness when
the sheriff hits you squarely in the head with his nightstick.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 31
You slowly wake up, you head throbbing from the blow delivered by the
sheriff. Eventually you head begins to clear and you see that you are
locked in a cell.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 32
From behind you you hear a low moan. You quickly spin around and hold
out your lamp, but all it does is cast strange shadows in the eerie
darkness.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 33
From all around you hear low moans. At times they seem to be right
next to you, and then at other times they seem to be far in the distance.
Wherever they are, you hope that they keep their distance.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 34
A cold, clammy hand reaches out of the darkness and grabs your throat.
You struggle but in an instance it seems that hundreds of hands are on
you. You try to make out what has you, but the darkness will not reveal
their forms. It makes no difference anyway, as the hands quickly choke
you to death. I told you not to wander around in the dark.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 35
You glance up at the new morning sun and wonder just how you got here
and just how you are going to get back home.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 36
Although the moon cast a soft, silvery light about you, you still
stumble about.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 37
You yell, "I need a beer!". From out of nowhere a burly bartender
appears, reaches in a cooler, pulls out a beer, mumbles something
about noisy customers, and hands you the beer, taking two dollars
quickly from you.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 38
You take a large drink from the bottle. Although quite yeast tasting,
you find it rather good and finish the beer in no time. With a burp,
you throw the bottle away and continue your adventure.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 39
You take a short drink from the bottle and find it quite refreshing.
As you sit down to savor the rest, an argument erupts between the
two patrons sitting next to you. Trying to avoid trouble you move
down one seat, but it is too late. One of the patrons picks up a
beer bottle and throws it at the other, missing him completely and
hitting you in the chest. Enraged, the other patron picks up the
bottle thrower and tosses him behind the bar. Without warning the
bottle thrower jumps back over the bar and attacks the other. You
hear the bartender yell, "Stop that or I'll get the sheriff!", but the
two combatants pay no attention and continue their battle.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 40
You quickly look around and dive behind an old juke box. You just
barely get hid when the sheriff rushes in. Without saying a
word the sheriff wades into the middle of the two fighters with his
nightstick swinging. You hear the bartender yell, "There was a
stranger here, too. I imagine he started it, but it looks like
he high tailed it out." The sheriff smiles as he mercilessly beats
on the struggling fighters and says, "I get him as soon as I get
through with these two." Without waiting to hear anymore, you
sneak out the front door, hoping no one saw you.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 41
Suddenly the sheriff appears out of nowhere and says, "Hold it right
there. I understand you started a fight in the bar and we don't like
trouble makers here in Tamoret. I have a nice, cold cell for you that
you will be spending several years in." Without another word, he raises
his nightstick and strikes you squarely in the head.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 42
You look around and find a hiding place behind the open cell door.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 43
You look around but really don't find a good hiding place.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 44
As you slam the cell door shut you hear a loud burst of profanity
from the sheriff. In you panic to secure the door, you turn the key
so hard that you end up bending it in the keyhole, jamming it in the
lock. Fortunately the door locks.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 45
It takes a great amount of your effort to turn the key in the lock,
but you finally manage to unlock the cell door.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 46
In the desk you notice a large iron key.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 47
The sheriff suddenly enters the office, dragging the two bar patrons
behind him. He hesitates for a moment when he sees the cell door
open, grunts, and then drags the patrons in to the cell.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 48
You dig in the spot where the dog buried his bone and find it to be
very soft. After several minutes of digging, you spade breaks through
to dark chamber located beneath the grave. With some effort you clear
enough of the dirt away to allow passage down into the darkness.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 49
You find the ground much too hard to dig here.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 50
As you open the bible a crumpled note falls out of it.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 51
You lie down and try to fall asleep but find that the is much too
uncomfortable here. You get back up and sigh.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 52
You find the bed very comfortable, but you just can't seem to fall asleep.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 53
In the dresser you find a bible.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 54
You walk down the dusty aisle and step up on the platform. From behind
the pulpit you find that you a have a clear view of all the church.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 55
You crawl into the warm bed and feel very secure here.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 56
Suddenly the pulpit begins to vibrate. You jump back in amazement as the
pulpit slowly slides forward, revealing a small shaft leading downwards.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 57
You jump into the bed and pull the covers over your head, hoping that
nothing will find you here.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 58
You hear something behind you. You quickly spin around and gasps as you
see a figure directly in front of you, dressed in a black cape with blood
dripping from his two, very large fangs.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 59
You pull the silver cross out of your pocket and wave it at the vampire.
The vampire lunges toward you, but when he sees the cross he stops
abruptly. His eyes glows red as he pulls his cape over them and says,
"Mere tokens! I will get you sooner or later." Suddenly his body
changes shape and he becomes a bat, flying off into one of the
passageways.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 60
You pull out a silver cross and wave it around like a mad man.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 61
You struggle to open the coffin and are about ready to give up when the
lid suddenly pops open letting out a horrible stench. From inside the
coffin a corpse rolls out, stopping at your feet.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 62
Sheesh! That thing stinks. Ok, if you insist but I don't like it
very much and you are not going to like it either. As you search the
corpse, parts of it begin to fall off in your hand. (I told you this was
not a pleasant task.) You notice something glistening on the right hand,
and as you reach for it the hand falls off. On a finger you notice a
strange looking ring. You touch the ring, causing the finger to depart
from the hand and roll across the ground. In the process the ring comes
off. I am not going to search this vile thing any longer!
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 63
You pull out a silver cross and wave it around like a mad man. Too bad
it is too dark here for anyone to see you.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 64
As you attempt to open the desk the sheriff slaps you hand and says,
"I told you I don't like thieves and snoops. Now get out of here
before I lock you up."
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 65
You tug on the drawer and with a squeal it slowly opens. The bottom
of the drawer is rusted out and a file drops out.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 66
You see a small pill vial on the counter.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 67
You turn the dial on the bank vault very slowly to the number. You
hear a very faint click.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 68
You turn the dial on the bank vault very slowly to the number. When
you reach the number the handle begins to spin slowly and then vault
door quietly swings open.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 69
You turn the dial on the bank vault very slowly.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 70
There is no need to work the combination. The door is already open.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 71
You put the silver bullet in the gun chamber.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 72
How many times around do you want me to turn the dial?
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 73
What number do you want me to stop at?
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 74
You carefully aim the gun at the werewolf and pull the trigger. The
bullet strikes the werewolf in the chest with a thud. The werewolf lets
out a blood curdling howl and then disappears in a puff of smoke.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 75
You lean over the fountain and look into the pool. To your surprise
you see some coins glistening on the bottom. Quickly you gather all
of them that you can see.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 76
On the table you see a large hatbox.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 77
You ponder this situation and then come up with a brilliant solution.
Using the stick you found, the hatbox, and the bird seed you set about
to make a trap. You set the box on the ground with its bottom up,
prop one side up with the stick and put the seeds in under the box on
the lid. Hiding behind the statue you wait. Finally the pigeon takes
the bait and with a quick throw of a rock, you knock the stick out,
dropping the box over the pigeon. You pounce on the box, making sure
that the lid is secure and then pick up the box with pigeon flapping
wildly in it. Eventually it settles down, cooing softly. Now after
all that hard work, what are going to do with a pigeon in a hatbox?
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 78
Very carefully you sneak up toward the pigeon with hands outstretched.
When you are about a foot from it you make a diving lunge for the bird,
but it sees you in the nick of time and flies off a few feet. Jumping
to your feet you make another dive for it, but again, it manages to
fly away just as you are about to close your hands around it. After
a few more times of this you give up from exhaustion. I sure hope
nobody was watching us.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 79
You tear off the lid of the box and thrust the box toward the statue.
The pigeon, sensing its freedom, nearly knocks the box out of you hand
as it madly departs its jail. Rising high above you the pigeon swoops
back down and comes to rest on the head of the statue. The statue lets
out a death defying shriek and yells, "Blasted Pigeons!" The pigeon
gently lifts off the head, circles the statue and lands on a shoulder.
Filled with raged the statue takes a powerful swing at the pigeon,
but misses and hits its shoulder, breaking the arm off. The pigeon
soars up, but swoops right back down and lands back on the statue's
head. Again the statue strikes out at the pigeon, missing completely,
but striking its own head so powerful that the head goes flying to
the ground. You hear a soft moan and then silence. As the statue
slowly grows rigid the hand opens and a small key falls from it.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 80
You tear off the lid to the hatbox and thrust the box towards the
statue. The statue emits a frightful laugh which freezes you in
your tracks. The statue swings at the box and asks, "Is this a
great secret weapon to destroy me with?"
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 81
You tear off the lid of the box and thrust out. The pigeon nearly
knocks the box from you hands as it makes its way to freedom.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 82
You insert the small key into the keyhole and turn it. You hear a
click.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 83
You insert the small key into the keyhole and turn it. The door locks.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 84
With great effort you start to row the boat across the lake. After
what seems like and hour, but was only a few minutes, you come to rest
on the other side of the lake.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 85
What do you want to use? Your hands? You're good, but not that good.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 86
From the statue you hear a deep chuckle and then it says, "Another
one. I shall destroy you like I destroyed the rest.". Suddenly
the statue takes a powerful swing at you, barely missing your head.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 87
The Bartender looks at you roughly and snorts, "Buddy, I run a cash
only business here. You ain't got the money, you ain't got the beer."
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 88
With great ease for its position, the statue takes another swing at
you, this time hitting his mark. The concrete hand slams down on your
head, splitting it wide open. The last thing you hear is the laughter
coming from the statue. Well, that wasn't very bright.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 89
You open up the lamp and pour out the fuel which quickly evaporates.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 90
You want to start a fire? I suggest you turn off the lamp first.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 91
From somewhere in the park you here the blood curdling howl of a wolf.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 92
You carefully touch one thread of the web and find it to be very sticky.
As you quickly pull your finger away from the web, you set a vibration
in the web that caused the whole web to vibrate.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 93
From somewhere up in the trees, a huge spider emerges in response to
the vibrating web. It quickly spots you and begins to inch towards
you.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 94
You look behind you and are almost overcome with panic as you see a
giant spider is following you.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 95
Suddenly tired of the cat and mouse game, the spider moves with lightning
speed. Before you can react, the spider is on top of you and with one
quick motion, its fangs sink deeply in you chest. The venom of the
bite quickly spreads throughout your body and with a few twitches, you
die.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 96
The mantis slowly turns its head as it sees the spider. The spider moves
for you but the mantis is quicker and catches the spider in its powerful
front legs. Raising it up to it jaws, it pauses for a moment to inspect
its catch and then jams the spider in its mouth. You hear the sound of
bone being crushed as the mantis slowly chews on it catch. Satisfied,
the mantis spreads its massive wings and slowly flies back up into the
trees, out of sight.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 97
As you examine the web you notice a familiar form toward the middle.
Upon closer examination you see it to be the skeleton remains of some
unlucky adventurer.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 98
Examining the skeleton closer you see that in its right hand is a large
scepter made of what appears to gold.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 99
You reach for the scepter and try to pull it away from the web, but
it firmly stuck there.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 100
You take a mighty swat at the fly, but the fly darts up to avoid the
blow. Picking up speed, the fly begins to swarm around you. As you
swat at it, the angrier it becomes.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 101
From behind the fly dive bombs you, grazing you with its feet and cutting
into your flesh.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 102
You begin to bleed profusely from the continuous attacks by the fly. Again
the fly attacks. You grasp at your throat as the fly manages to open a
massive cut at the jugular. You fall to your knees and gasp as the last
of your blood drains out, leaving you quite dead.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 103
The fly swoops at you from behind, but you manage to duck its blow.
Missing, the fly flies directly into the web. Its wings beat furiously
as it tries to free itself, but the harder it struggles the more
entangled it becomes. In its struggle, it manages to break a few of
the sticky strands. but eventually the web wins out and the fly
settles down to a half hearted struggle. During the struggle you notice
that the fly has broken a scepter partly free. It now hangs from the
web by just one strand.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 104
As you reach out for the scepter the spider quickly moves over it. You
jerk you hand back out of the way just as the spider was about to bite
it.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 105
Suddenly a giant spider emerges from the treetops. It moves down the
web a few feet then stops. You watch it as its head slowly rotates
toward you and then back to the fly.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 106
On the workbench you see a large steel prybar.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 107
Slowly and quietly you move toward the rat which seems to be frozen with
terror in the corner of the room. With great stealth, you bend down and
reach out for the rat, slowly moving you hand toward the trapped critter.
When you are within inches of it, the rat panics and madly scales the
brick wall. With all the speed you can muster, your hand follows the
fleeing rat up the wall. About half way up the rat turns and heads
across the wall with lightning speed, its claws desperately trying to
hold on to the bricks. Suddenly the rat reaches a brick that is lose
in the wall. The brick gives, falling to the floor with the rat still
attached. You lunge toward the rat and for a moment have it in your
grasp, but the rat wiggles free and heads back up the wall. You jump
up just in time to see it disappear in the hole that the brick had left
in the wall. Without thinking you thrust you hand into the hole and
begin to feel around for your prey. Your fingers bump into some
sort of a small lever and accidentally flips it. Before you can step
back, a small section of the wall where you are at spins around 180
degrees, taking you with it.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 108
As you search through the massive pile of papers and books on the desk
you come across a gray journal.

MAY 8 -22-
Fourth archway completed now. This one should compensate for power
drops experienced with previous archways by redirecting the surges
back through the arch, giving a more constant fluctuation.
May 10
A serious problem arose today. Archway tested and filled the room
with a bluish-green smoke. Several lab animals died in the smoke.
I assume that the high electrical discharges created the deadly
fumes when the door opens to the fourth dimension. Although I do
not know whether the arch is actually working since entering the lab
now would be suicidal.
MAY 23
Deadly fume situation solved by the use of a purging pump. Hopefully,
until the time I find a way to neutralize these fumes, the EPA will
not discover that I am pumping this poison into the atmosphere.
JUNE 2
Finale calculations completed and ready to personally test the archway.
I am convinced that the white rat has suffered no damaged in its journeys
to the beyond. I must admit that I am a little afraid of what might
be through the arch.

AUGUST 8 -37-
There is life in this strange new world! I met him today and he seems
to be mostly human. Intelligent and surprisingly able to speak our
language. He has agreed to try to pass through the arch when I feel
it is safe.
AUGUST 10
In exploring this new world I have found several strange artifacts. Each
seems to be emitting a colored light. Asking him about it has given
me little information. He seems to be more interested in my world and
I found myself answering many questions about our world while he is
very evasive about his world.
AUGUST 23
He seems to be changing everyday, growing more adept to survival in my
world. I notice his shape is gradually changing also, becoming more
translucent. He seems more demanding about knowing everything about
my world and gets annoyed when I do not answer. He never comes to the
lab anymore, yet he refuses to leave the house. Have found four artifacts
and brought them back to the lab. Have not identified them yet.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 111
DECEMBER 12 -46-
I becoming more alarm at my visitor. He has developed into some sort
of a ghost like appearance. Upon questioning about this, he just says
it is normal for his kind. He refuses to go back to his world. Also
noticed today that he was trying to leave the house but something was
preventing him.
DECEMBER 17
I have made a terrible blunder! Today while exploring the other world
I meet another creature, a woman. She was very distraught and after
I told her what I had done she became very angry. It seems my house
guest was a prisoner in his world. An evil being who had brought much
destruction to her world. They had captured him and locked him in
a prison that my archway penetrated. A sort of time continuum. between
my world and her world. She feared my world would be in great peril
if I did not return him.
DECEMBER 18
I confronted this being, who is now nothing more than a black shadow,
and tried to convince him to return to the archway. He refused and
laughed at me. He will not let me leave the house. His powers growing
each day. Today I saw him animate a dead mouse.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 112
JANUARY 11 -53-
He has expanded his influence over the town. Most of the residence
have disappeared or hide in fear from his creations. I should never
had let him read those horror story books. His power is immense now
and I fear soon, unless I learn a way to get him back through the
arch, he will spread his evil across the world.
JANUARY 13
It seems that the artifacts I have found have some sort of effect on him.
He seems to fear the ring and now tries to completely avoid me. I have
found a total of six of these artifacts and will experiment with them
on him. I feel time is growing short.
JANUARY 14
I met her again and she told me that the artifacts were the keys to this
prison dimension. I fear that he is now trying to do away with me. I
have become a threat to him since I believe I know how to stop him.
I must hurry now.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 113
You raise the orb up and direct it toward the plaque. As the light
hits the plaque, the plaque seems to absorb it for a few moments, then,
in a terrifying moment, the plaque reflects thousands of rays of light
that bounce throughout the room. Reflex makes you hit the floor and
cover you head. The light stops a quick as it started and you hear
the crunching of stone. When you stand up you see a opening in the
wall where once the plaque hung.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 114
Searching the pockets you find a candy wrapper.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 115
Which ball do you want to get?
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 116
You are now carrying a nine ball from a pool table.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 117
You pick up a ball from the table and examine it. Finding it the same
as the one you already have you put it back on the table.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 118
You reach down to pick up your ball but decide that all of them looks the
same, so you grab the closes one.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 119
You gently place the nine ball on the top shelf. Slowly it begins to
roll down the slanted shelf. Reaching the end, it drops down to the
second shelf and rolls in the opposite direction picking up speed.
Faster and faster it goes, dropping down to the lower shelves on its
journey to the bottom shelf. With great speed and force it hits
the bottle shelf and heads toward the wall at an amazingly quick pace.
Suddenly the ball hits the wall, breaking a thin layer of tissue
paper that has been taped on the wall, and disappears into the wall,
You hear the ball rumbling in the wall for a few moments and then
to your surprise the ball reemerges, pushing a square key out ahead
of it.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 120
You place the pool ball on the top of the shelf and release it. The
ball starts to roll down the slanted shelf. It hits the wall and bounces
of the wall, falling to the floor.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 121
You place the ball on the top shelf and release it. The ball starts
to roll down the shelf but falls off about half way.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 122
As you try to open the trunk, the giant bat dives for you and knocks you
away.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 123
You insert the prybar between the lid and body of the trunk and give
a mighty push to it. The locks springs open and the trunk lid flies
up.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 124
You search through old clothes and personal items in the trunk finding
little of value until you reach the bottom of the trunk. There you
see a small orb shaped stone. The orb is emitting a bright white
light.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 125
You wave the scepter at the bat. A brilliant blue light shoots from
stone and strikes the bat in mid flight. Stunned the bat falls to the
floor. Slowly it regains its senses and flies to a corner of the
attic where it disappears.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 126
Your ring finger tingles as the shadow approaches. Just when the
shadow is about on you, a brilliant orange light shoots from the
stone in the ring and strikes the shadow. The shadow screams in
agony and quickly backs away, clearly terrified of the ring.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 127
The shadow approaches you with caution, seeming to be looking you
over for something. Suddenly, the shadow releases a bone chilling
laugh which freezes you. "Foolish Human," he says, "I cannot be
destroyed!" With that, the shadow surrounds you and and your whole
body is encompassed by its shadowy form. You gasp for air as it

The white shadow slowly fades in to reveal that it is the same vision
that visited you in your bedroom. She floats down close to you and
says, "It is fortunate that you have made it this far, but you must
now heed my warnings. This land is unlike any you have ever seen.
We created it to hold him as a prisoner for all time. You will
find several sections here, each a different fold in time and each
controlled by an artifact that Dr. Braindead has removed. You must
return those artifacts to their proper place but be careful. Taking
the wrong artifact into the wrong area will create an imbalance in
the fabric it was created out of. This can result in a terrible
collapse of this dimension. You must hurry now, but before you
close the portal make sure that he is safely locked in in a
section. Remember that he is very dangerous now and do not trust him."
Suddenly the whole area shakes violently, knocking you down.
The shadow continues, "I must leave. My very presence here is
helping to destroy this fabric. Please hurry and good luck. I can
help you no more." With that she slowly fades out.
END_MESSAGE
MESSAGE 157
Suddenly one of your artifacts begin to vibrate. A brilliant light
shoots out of it tearing apart your very surroundings. You try to run
but find that where once was solid footing there is no more. You are
aware of a tremendous sucking and see that the area is collapsing
upon itself. Suddenly it is gone, along with you. Sorry my
friend, but you have died.

Your left had clings desperately to the chain as you head back down.
Your legs plunge into the ground, kicking dust everywhere, and you fall

support as the centrifugal force draws you to the walls, but it is to
